Jammu and Kashmir Live Updates: BJD supports Article 370 move, BJP ally JD(U) to boycott
Article 370 Live Updates: Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha said the union territory in Ladakh will have no legislature while the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir will have a legislature like Delhi.
The Union Government on Monday moved a resolution in Rajya Sabha to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
AIADMK, AAP and Shiv Sena hailed the Centre’s decision on Article 370, with Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray dubbing it as a “moment of pride” and a “historic day” for the country.
However, as soon as Amit Shah made the announcement, members of the Congress, TMC and DMK squat on the floor of the House while one of the PDP members tore his clothes and then along with another PDP member tore copies of the Constitution, urging Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to order that they be physically removed.
