Congress pioneer Shatrughan Sinha’s better half Poonam Sinha joins SP, may challenge from Lucknow
Days after Shatrughan Sinha joined the Congress, his better half, Poonam Sinha, joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday.
The 69-year-old Sinha was drafted into the gathering fold by Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav, who is the spouse of SP boss Akhilesh Yadav.
All things considered, Poonam Sinha will challenge from Lucknow as the SP-BSP-RLD applicant against Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
“Poonam Sinha Ji (spouse of Shatrughan Sinha) will be the SP-BSP-RLD competitor from Lucknow. She will document designation on 18 April. We claim to the Congress that don’t handle your hopeful from here so that BJP can be vanquished,” SP pioneer Ravidas Mehrotra was cited as saying by ANI.
Lucknow is a bastion of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1991. Previous Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee won from the seat five sequential times. While BJP pioneer Lalji Tandon won the seat in 2009 Lok Sabha decisions, Rajnath Singh was chosen to Parliament from the seat in 2014.
Singh is looking for a re-appointment from the seat.
The SP-BSP-RLD union has let the Congress well enough alone for the condition in Uttar Pradesh. In this way, it is fascinating that while Poonam Sinha joined the SP, her better half changed from the BJP to Congress on 6 April.
The performing artist turned-government official, who looks for re-appointment from Patna Sahib electorate in Bihar, has been a harsh commentator of the BJP as far back as Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to control.
In Patna Sahib, Sinha faces Union clergyman Ravi Shankar Prasad.
