V. S. Achuthanandan

Velikkakathu Sankaran Achuthanandan (born 20 October 1923) is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011. He was one of the founding leaders (and also the last surviving) of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and has played a major role in building the party cadre in the state of Kerala.
Achuthanandan was a member of the CPI(M) Politburo from 1985 until July 2009, when he was reverted to the Central Committee of the party owing to his ideological dispositions. He is a mass leader respected for integrity.
