Nitin Patel Set To Be Gujarat’s Next Chief Minister
Senior cabinet minister in Gujarat’s state government Nitin Patel is set to take over as the next chief minister of Gujarat. He will succeed Anandiben Patel whose resignation was accepted by the BJP couple of days back. The official announcement regarding Patel’s appointment is going to be made after the meeting of BJP legislative party at 4 P.M. According to sources, he is the Number 2 in Gujarat government’s cabinet and has been confirmed as the next CM of the state. His candidature had been endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Anandiben Patel.
Punjab Assembly Polls 2017: AAP Declares First List of Candidates; Bhagwant Mann to Head Campaign
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its first list of candidates for the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections. Controversial Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann is going to lead the party’s campaign in the state. He triggered controversy recently and is facing probe for breaching security protocol by uploading a video shot in the Parliament on social media. The candidates’ list was declared by Mann along with AAP’s leader in charge of Punjab Sanjay Singh. The list names 19 candidates which includes H.S. Phoolka and Himmat Singh Shergill besides activists, lawyers, sportsmen, traders besides a doctor, an engineer, a former MP and an ex-serviceman. The Aam Aadmi Party has released its first list much ahead of other political contenders. Punjab has 117 Assembly constituencies.
The New Arunachal Pradesh Government Passes Floor Test
The new government in Arunachal Pradesh is only four days old and it has passed the floor test in Assembly. A total of 46 members voted in favor of the Chief Minister Perna Khandu, while 11 from the opposition party, BJP voted against him. Mr Khandu appreciated the members including Kaliko Phul and Tuki, for keeping faith on him.

As India is preparing itself to see Lok Sabha elections in 2019, an analysis on Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that he is good enough to be re-elected as the Prime Minister of India. It has been two years of him holding the position in the country, and he has taken many initiatives, including elimination of corruption in Delhi. According to Indian Journalist and Columnist Swaminathan Aiyar, current PM Modi is the candidate who can be re-elected for the position.

Imran Masood, 46 who made news for having said to chop Narendra Modi to pieces during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, claims to be the face of the congress in Uttar Pradesh. He said that whatever has been portrayed is just the opposite of who he is. He says that BJP is responsible for the controversy.
Poonam Azad May Quit BJP
Wife of suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad, Poonam Azad, who is also a three-time party national executive member is likely to follow the footsteps of Navjot Singh Sidhu by quitting BJP. Reports say that she might join Aam Aadmi Party as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior party leaders have been in regular touch with her. She said she is upset with the party as many things she was promised, were not provided to her.

As cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the Rajya Sabha, he might quit Bharatiya Janta Party as well. This is going to be a setback for the party as it will lose a potential member in Punjab and is also expected to change the course of politics in the state.
