AAP announces countrywide agitation over farmer rights

According To India Vote Kar
Aam Aadmi Party has announced a countrywide agitation for rights of farmers. At its national executive meeting that concluded late at night on Sunday, AAP also decided to replicate Delhi’s organisational structure across all other states which will then lead the protests on behalf of farmers in distress.

Senior party member Sanjay Singh said: “Farmers have been committing suicide across the country. In Maharastra, there were unprecedented protests where farmers destroyed their own produce. The NE discussed this matter in great detail and in all states where farmers are distressed, like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab etc, where farmers are committing suicide and are in trouble, we will start an agitation.”

Singh said that from June 10, state convenors will start the work of organisation building and will then push for implementation of the Swaminathan committee recommendations and for waiver of farmers’ loans.
